Albuquerque Bans Physical Crypto ATMs Amid Rising Scam Concerns
The Albuquerque City Council has passed a resolution to ban physical cryptocurrency ATMs in the city due to rising cases of fraud and scams targeting elderly residents.
According to Councilor Stephanie W. Telles, 90% of crypto ATM transactions in Albuquerque are used for illicit activities.
Crypto ATM operators have been given 45 days to remove their machines from the city or face penalties.
