Alephium TokenBridge Breached for $815K via Off-Chain Flaw
A cross-chain bridge linking Alephium (ALPH) to Ethereum (ETH) and BNB Chain was breached, resulting in the loss of approximately $815,000 in about seven minutes.
The attackers exploited a flaw in the off-chain backend of the TokenBridge, minting 13.76 million unbacked wrapped ALPH tokens, which is more than the bridge's entire prior wrapped supply.
Alephium has halted the bridge and pledged to repay affected users, with a full postmortem due this week.
The breach highlights the vulnerabilities of cross-chain bridges, which facilitate asset transfers between separate blockchains.
