Alex Jones Sparks Controversy with Cryptocurrency Warning
Controversial media personality Alex Jones has issued a warning to XRP holders, claiming that governments may attempt to seize cryptocurrencies and other assets during a banking collapse.
In a recent video, Jones stated that he was not making a specific price prediction for XRP or Bitcoin, but rather expressing his concern about the potential risks associated with holding cryptocurrencies.
According to Jones, governments facing a systemic financial crisis would try to 'grab' whatever assets they could, including private bank accounts and homes. He emphasized that he was not predicting this outcome, but rather warning people of the possibility.
Jones's comments appear to refer to existing bank-resolution frameworks in the United States and the European Union, which allow for the restructuring of failing banks and the seizure of certain assets.
However, XRPL validator and ecosystem contributor Vet has questioned Jones's sensationalist approach, pointing out that the FDIC has never announced a policy under which it can simply seize people's cryptocurrency or homes.
