Algorand Clears Up Leadership Misreport: Warden Remains at Helm
Algorand Foundation has clarified that William Herkelrath is not its CEO, contrary to recent reports. Staci Warden continues as the confirmed CEO as of September 2026. Herkelrath is actually the CEO of K3 Labs and has no involvement in Algorand's leadership.
The foundation is currently focused on various strategic initiatives. These include re-establishing its Delaware headquarters, expanding its board with members like Bill Barhydt, advancing a post-quantum security roadmap targeting completion by end-2027, and developing the AC2 protocol for AI agents.
