Algorand Taps Chainlink Vet as New CEO
The Algorand Foundation has appointed William Herkelrath as its new CEO. The former Chainlink and Curv executive will focus on expanding Algorand's institutional adoption in tokenization and payments.
Herkelrath succeeds Staci Warden, who led the foundation for five years. He brings over 20 years of experience to the role, having held leadership positions at Chainlink and Curv before co-founding K3 Labs, an AI automation platform.
The appointment comes as Algorand inches toward post-quantum security. Herkelrath will also join the foundation's board alongside Alex Fowler, chief strategy officer at Nexus Labs. Rebecca Rettig and Michael Mosier are stepping down from the board as part of the reshuffle.
