Algorand Whales Fuel Breakout as Price Reaches $0.089 Target
Algorand has seen increased whale activity as its price approached a potential breakout on August 3. Large holders have been buying up the asset, with their exposure across Spot and derivatives markets increasing as Algorand reclaimed its 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA).
By August 4, Algorand had traded at $0.08908, marginally above an earlier target of $0.089.
The whales' accumulation of Algorand is accompanied by a long bias in derivatives markets, with long positions representing 57% of tracked exposure. This suggests that most leveraged traders expect further price gains.
However, such positioning could also increase liquidation risks if Algorand reverses. Holding above $0.089 may determine whether the breakout develops into a broader rally or returns the token to its former pennant range.
