Algorand Whales Push Price Above $0.089 Target
Algorand's price has reclaimed its 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) and attracted renewed attention from large holders, also known as whales. These investors have increased their exposure across both Spot and derivatives markets. By August 4th, Algorand traded at $0.08908, surpassing the earlier target of $0.089.
The whales' accumulation is a bullish signal, but it also increases the risk of liquidation if the price reverses. According to Santiment's analysis, whales held 54% of ALGO's supply on August 3rd. This significant influence over the token's near-term price direction supports their buying activity.
The derivatives market also shows a long bias, with 57% of tracked exposure in long positions. This suggests that most leveraged traders expect further price gains for Algorand. However, this positioning may be vulnerable to liquidation risks if the price declines.
