Algorand's Ecosystem Performance Paints Mixed Picture in Latest Report
Algorand's July report paints a mixed picture of its ecosystem performance. Despite some challenges, the network has seen growth in certain areas.
The Algo Insights Report shows that the number of monthly active wallets reached 522,000, up 1.2% from June. Cumulative wallets now exceed 52 million, and transactions also increased slightly by 1.0%, reaching 3.67 billion. However, liquidity metrics were less encouraging, with Total Value Locked (TVL) in USD terms falling 7.2% to $64 million.
The network's focus on innovation remains a key area of attention. Algorand's x402 protocol, which enables agentic commerce, has shown early traction. From July 27 to August 2, the network recorded $80.9K in agentic payment transfers, placing it behind Base but ahead of Polygon and Solana.
The decentralization efforts continued, with ALGO staking surpassing 2.07 billion tokens. The community controlled 81.1% of the stake, while the Algorand Foundation held 18.9%. Validators earned 6.74 million ALGO in staking rewards during July, contributing to a cumulative 2026 total of 46.89 million ALGO.
