Alloy by Tether Winds Down: Users Must Redeem aUSD₮ Before September 17

Instruments
USDT USDC XAUt

Alloy by Tether is shutting down its mint-and-redeem machinery for users who deposited Tether Gold (XAU₮) as collateral to create a dollar-pegged synthetic, aUSD₮. The last day to redeem aUSD₮ and withdraw XAU₮ is September 17, 2026.

The Alloy platform has already blocked new position creation and minting. Users who opened positions by depositing XAU₮ as collateral must repay their aUSD₮ debt and unlock their XAU₮ before the deadline.

For those holding aUSD₮ on an exchange or DEX, the best option is typically to sell or swap it for USDT/USDC. This is because they don't have a collateralized position to close through the Alloy platform.
