Altcoin Market Share Declines, Bitcoin Forms Potential Bottom
Cory Klippsten, CEO of Swan Bitcoin, believes that altcoins are no longer viable competitors to Bitcoin. In an interview published on August 15, he stated that 'altcoins are effectively dead' when it comes to competing with Bitcoin as money.
Klippsten also predicted that a bottom could form in October for Bitcoin, pointing out that in past bull markets, a bottom formed about 12 months after the peak. He cited the example of last year's record high when Bitcoin rose above $126,000.
Klippsten expressed skepticism towards altcoins more broadly, suggesting that they will be absorbed into traditional finance. He noted that centralized digital-asset businesses, such as Hyperliquid, will eventually fall under traditional financial regulation.
