Altcoin Season Index Holds at 31 as Bitcoin Remains in Control
The Altcoin Season Index is currently holding steady at 31, indicating that Bitcoin remains in control of the market cycle. Despite recent gains across selected tokens, broad altcoin outperformance has not yet materialized.
According to the BlockchainCenter methodology, an index reading of 75 or higher confirms altcoin season. However, with a current reading of 31, most leading altcoins have not performed better than Bitcoin over the past 90 days.
The market remains selective, with individual tokens outperforming due to project-specific reasons rather than widespread momentum. A stronger rotation would require wider participation, including Ethereum outperforming BTC more consistently and a larger share of established altcoins producing superior returns.
