Altcoin Season Index Holds Firm at 52, Market Remains Neutral
The Altcoin Season Index (ASI) has maintained its reading at 52, indicating that neither Bitcoin nor altcoins have gained an advantage over the past 90 days.
This neutral market phase comes as a result of the index's calculation, which compares the price performance of Bitcoin to the top 100 cryptocurrencies, excluding stablecoins and wrapped tokens. When 75% or more of these altcoins outperform Bitcoin, it is considered 'altcoin season', while fewer than 25% beating Bitcoin marks 'Bitcoin season'.
The current reading of 52 suggests a balanced market with no decisive trend favoring either asset class. This neutrality often precedes significant market moves, as traders await clearer directional cues from macroeconomic factors or regulatory developments.
