Altcoins Break Out of Downtrend as Analyst Sees Potential for New Bull Cycle
Matthew Hyland, a cryptocurrency analyst, has identified a significant breakthrough in the altcoin market. According to him, key indicators such as the TOTAL2 and TOTAL3 have broken their downward trends that lasted for over a year, suggesting an uptrend may be beginning.
The TOTAL2 indicator tracks the total market capitalization of altcoins other than Bitcoin, while the TOTAL3 indicator excludes both Bitcoin and Ethereum. The analyst notes that this breakout could signal the start of a new bull cycle in the altcoin market.
Hyland also pointed out that the current technical structure shows similarities to past market movements. If past formations reappear, a major bull cycle could begin in the altcoin market, potentially exceeding the 2020-2021 cycle.
However, Hyland emphasized that it is unclear whether this breakout is the beginning of a true bull trend or merely a bear market rally. To confirm a lasting bull market, altcoins need to maintain their current levels, create new highs, and for the upward trend to spread to the market as a whole.
