Altcoins in Spotlight as September Volatility Looms
The cryptocurrency market is expected to experience higher volatility in September due to various factors, including macro uncertainty and token unlocks. Several large-cap and mid-cap tokens are on the radar, with SUI, APT, SEI, TIA, and INJ being among them.
Sui (SUI) has been consolidating within a tight range after a pullback from its local highs at $0.95. The price is currently around $0.7, but a scheduled unlock will add supply pressure. A recent Switchboard oracle compromise affecting Sui DeFi protocols has weighed on sentiment.
Aptos (APT) is also due for a scheduled unlock in September, where nearly 14.36 million APT, roughly worth $7.4 million, will be released. This represents about 1.8% of APT's market cap and could create selling pressure.
Sei (SEI) has been strong above the $0.045 support despite a pullback from its recent gains. The token remains vulnerable to selling pressure around the unlock, but holding above $0.045 could keep the recovery structure intact.
