Altcoins Lead Crypto Rally with Four Distinct Drivers
The crypto market has seen a broad rally in recent weeks, with four altcoins standing out for their significant gains. SPX6900, Polygon (POL), Pudgy Penguins (PENGU), and Ethena (ENA) have each been driven by distinct catalysts.
SPX6900 is up 65% to 70% over the week, with a market cap nearing $600 million. The token has gained Korean won trading access through exchanges like Upbit and Bithumb. Onchain data shows that whales are accumulating the token at a faster rate than they're distributing it.
Polygon (POL) climbed roughly 50% in a week before pulling back to the $0.10 to $0.11 range. The rally followed a proposed staking overhaul from Polygon Labs' Sandeep Nailwal, who said network revenue is up tenfold this year.
Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) traded near $0.0097, up 35% to 60% over the week, with daily volume exceeding $300 million. The rally followed a cryptic four-emoji post from CEO Luca Netz, which some traders read as hinting at a stock listing.
Ethena (ENA) traded near $0.146, roughly doubling from mid-August lows. The move followed an August 19 announcement that Ethena and FalconX would launch a $1 billion secured lending facility.
