Altman's AI Agents: A New Era for Companies and Crypto Security
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has outlined his vision for the 'third wave' of artificial intelligence, which he believes will revolutionize how companies operate and interact with technology. This new era of AI is focused on creating persistent agents that can act as digital colleagues, handling complex tasks independently and autonomously.
Altman describes the third wave as a significant shift from the previous two waves: predictive (think recommendation algorithms) and generative (the ChatGPT era). The proposed agentic wave will see AI take initiative, manage workflows, and execute multi-step processes without constant human oversight.
The first agents are expected to join the workforce in 2025, boosting company output. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has set a target of deploying one billion Agentforce agents by the end of 2025.
OpenAI is partnering with Paradigm to develop EVMbench, a benchmark designed to assess AI's capability in securing crypto smart contracts. This move highlights the potential for persistent AI agents to improve crypto security and reduce losses due to smart contract exploits.
