An Amarillo man is facing federal charges for allegedly using Bitcoin to access child pornography on the dark web. Jose Adrian Bosquez, 39, was arrested by the FBI after a search warrant was executed at his home.

According to court records, Bosquez paid $16.61 worth of Bitcoin on April 5, 2024, for a daily subscription to a website that promoted itself as 'the largest open library of free child pornography videos and images.'

Bosquez admitted to sending cryptocurrency to the website and viewing child sexual abuse material, stating he accessed such content approximately five times. The most recent occurrence happened in February or March when he paid someone through PayPal for access to a Telegram group where such material was posted.
