An Amarillo man has been indicted for allegedly using Bitcoin to access child pornography on the dark web.

Jose Adrian Bosquez, 39, was charged with access with intent to view child pornography after a federal grand jury indicted him September 9. The indictment alleges that Bosquez knowingly accessed material depicting the sexual abuse of a minor from an unknown date through about August 19.

The FBI linked a Coinbase account in Bosquez's name to a Bitcoin payment sent to a website on the Tor network, which authorities said advertised child sexual abuse material. Agents executed a search warrant at Bosquez's home and he admitted using cryptocurrency to access the website.
