AMC Chief Slams Robinhood's Tokenized Stock Plan
AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc.'s CEO Adam Aron has criticized Robinhood's plan to offer tokenized stock trading. In an interview, Aron expressed concerns that this move could lead to more market volatility and confuse investors.
Aron stated that AMC is not considering offering its own tokenized stock product and instead prefers traditional equities-based investing.
Robinhood's tokenized stock plan aims to allow users to buy and sell fractional shares of companies, including those listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ. The platform will reportedly use a combination of blockchain technology and smart contracts to facilitate these transactions.
