Artificial intelligence (AI) is on the cusp of a significant shift towards agentic AI, which enables autonomous bots to interact with data, software tools, and enterprise systems. For this technology to scale, AMD's Kumaran Siva emphasizes the importance of open ecosystems.

Siva argues that proprietary solutions can stifle innovation and scalability as businesses expand their AI strategies. In fact, industry trends are already moving towards open-source initiatives, such as Nvidia's recently launched Open Secure AI Alliance with over 30 partners.

Maribel Lopez, a principal analyst at Lopez Research, agrees that 'AI is not a set-it-and-forget-it technology.' She notes the importance of constantly evolving tools provided by open-source communities for long-term deployment flexibility.

AMD's role in promoting open ecosystems is evident through its comprehensive suite of solutions, including AMD EPYC server CPUs and software frameworks like ROCm. By supporting industry standards such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, AMD enables businesses to evaluate, port, and deploy AI models across environments without retraining or reformatting.
