AMD Partnership Validates Core Scientific's AI Infrastructure Shift
Core Scientific has undergone significant changes in its business strategy, transforming from a traditional Bitcoin miner to an AI infrastructure provider. The company's partnership with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seen as validation of this new direction.
According to recent financials, Core Scientific's colocation revenue surged to $136.7 million in the second quarter, compared to just $10.6 million a year earlier. This represents a 1,194% increase and highlights the profitability of its AI-focused infrastructure business.
The company's digital asset self-mining revenue fell to $21.5 million, reflecting its shift away from operating as a traditional Bitcoin miner. Core Scientific generated $164.2 million in quarterly revenue, while adjusted EBITDA climbed to $41.1 million.
