AMD Transforms PACE into Agentic AI Orchestrator with LangGraph Support
Ahead of its peers in the AI infrastructure market, AMD has taken another significant step forward by transforming its Platform Aware Compute Engine (PACE) into an agentic AI orchestrator. This evolution is made possible through PACE's integration with LangGraph, a widely used framework for building stateful AI agents.
Initially designed to optimize large language model inference on AMD's EPYC processors, PACE now enables end-to-end orchestration for complex workflows involving multi-step reasoning, planning, and tool usage. This positions PACE at the forefront of modern AI systems like multi-agent assistants and autonomous research tools.
The integration with LangGraph brings several key upgrades to PACE, including deterministic agent execution, a replay mode for debugging and benchmarking, and profiling tools to measure performance. Additionally, PACE supports seamless GPU offloading, connecting to AMD Radeon and Instinct GPUs to handle computationally intensive tasks while maintaining a consistent orchestration layer on EPYC processors.
This hybrid approach ensures high performance without sacrificing the deterministic control required for agentic systems. The adoption of LangGraph also enables advanced features such as pause and resume capabilities, human-in-the-loop adjustments, and state persistence, critical for real-world applications like web browsing and multi-modal data analysis.
