American Bitcoin Defies Industry Trend with Bitcoin Bet
American Bitcoin is bucking the trend of its competitors shifting towards AI by doubling down on Bitcoin mining and holding. Despite a net loss of $57.2 million in the second quarter, the company's stock surged over 5% on Monday.
The company, listed on NASDAQ under ABTC, increased its holdings from 7,021 to 8,002 Bitcoins in just one quarter, a net gain of nearly 1,000 coins. The quarterly production hit a record: about 932 Bitcoins mined over the three months of the second quarter.
CEO Mike Ho highlighted the operational performance, stating that despite the decline in Bitcoin prices over the period, the team produced a record number of coins and strengthened the strategic reserve.
