American Bitcoin Earnings Loom Amid Rising Short Interest
American Bitcoin Corp., listed on the NASDAQ Exchange as ABTC, is set to report its second-quarter earnings before the opening bell on Monday. Analysts expect the company to post earnings per share of $0.15 and quarterly revenue projected at $73.80 million, a 19% increase from the prior quarter.
The stock has seen rising short interest, climbing from 2.3% to 3.2% of the company's publicly available float, which is typically interpreted as a bearish signal. However, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator flashed a 'Buy' signal for ABTC, according to TradingView.
American Bitcoin started trading on the Nasdaq Exchange in September last year and has been building its own strategic BTC reserve, currently holding 8,000 BTC worth $500 million. This makes it the 16th-largest corporate BTC holder. The company's journey since launch has been tumultuous, with the stock tumbling 95% since going public.
Eric Trump, co-founder of American Bitcoin, dismissed a report that mentioned the firm burning $500 million in shareholder value and his personal wealth increasing from $190 million to $280 million.
