American Bitcoin Posts Second-Quarter Loss Amid Crypto Market Volatility
American Bitcoin, backed by Donald Trump's sons, reported a second-quarter loss due to market volatility and declining cryptocurrency prices.
The company's holdings in Bitcoin grew by 14% from the previous quarter, reaching over 8,000 units. Its mining focus led to record quarterly production of about 932 Bitcoins.
Despite this, the price of Bitcoin dropped by more than 11% during the second quarter. As a result, American Bitcoin reported a net loss of $57.2 million, compared to a profit of $3.4 million in the same period last year.
The company's revenue jumped to about $67 million from $30.3 million a year earlier. CEO Mike Ho stated, 'Despite bitcoin headwinds in Q2, we stayed focused on what we can control.'
