American Bitcoin Reports Q2 Loss Amid Crypto Market Volatility
American Bitcoin, backed by Donald Trump's sons, has reported a net loss of $57.2 million in its second-quarter earnings, despite strong growth in its holdings and mining production.
The company's focus on cryptocurrency mining pushed quarterly production to a record, with approximately 932 Bitcoins mined in the second quarter.
However, the sharp decline in Bitcoin prices over the past few months has put pressure on crypto asset prices, leading to the net loss. The price of Bitcoin slid by over 11% between April and June.
In a statement, CEO Mike Ho said that despite the challenges faced in Q2, the company remained committed to its goals. 'Despite bitcoin headwinds in Q2, we stayed focused on what we can control,' he added.
