American Bitcoin Surges Past 8,000 BTC, Mining Record Quarter
Trump Family's American Bitcoin has made significant strides in Q2, growing its treasury to over 8,000 BTC. The company mined a record 932 BTC during this period, resulting in mining revenue of $67 million. Despite a weaker Bitcoin price, the cost to mine each BTC remained largely unchanged at around $36,500.
The company reported a narrowed net loss of $57.2 million, an improvement from the previous quarter's $81.8 million loss. American Bitcoin's CEO Mike Ho expressed confidence in the long-term value of Bitcoin, stating that it is a 'growing capital asset' with compounding potential that will outperform their cost of capital.
Co-founder Eric Trump emphasized the company's rapid growth and commitment to building a leading American Bitcoin powerhouse. However, the news comes after a volatile stretch for the company, which has seen its shares fall significantly since its IPO.
