Americans Oppose Crypto in Workplace Retirement Plans
A new survey reveals that most Americans are opposed to employers offering cryptocurrency in workplace retirement plans. The National Institute on Retirement Security found that 53% of respondents oppose such investments, while 77% consider them risky.
The poll, conducted from October 24 to November 14, 2025, surveyed 1,203 US residents aged 25 and older. It showed that concerns over retirement security have increased, with 80% of Americans believing the country faces a retirement crisis, up from 67% in 2020.
The survey also found that 68% of respondents said preparing for retirement had become harder, while 77% said debt prevented them from putting aside enough money. This is despite the fact that 46% of respondents considered cryptocurrency in workplace retirement plans 'very risky', contributing to the 77% who expressed some level of concern.
