Americans Prefer Human Guidance Over 'Digital Gold' When Investing in Bitcoin
A recent national study conducted by the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) has revealed that everyday Americans are more likely to be swayed by personal control and trusted financial professionals when it comes to investing in Bitcoin.
The study, which polled over 1,000 registered voters and involved focus groups, tested various messages and messengers to gauge their effectiveness in increasing interest in owning Bitcoin. The results showed that the 'digital gold' pitch, a common narrative used to promote Bitcoin as a store of value, fell flat with participants.
In contrast, messages emphasizing control, proven performance, security, and ease of access resonated strongly with respondents. Notably, a financial advisor whom the respondent had worked with personally was ranked as the most trusted source, ahead of retirement experts and even Bitcoin-owning friends or family members.
The study's findings have been welcomed by Digital Asset Investment Management (DAiM), an SEC-registered investment adviser that specializes in digital assets. DAiM has long emphasized the importance of a fiduciary approach to investing, where clients are advised on their specific needs and goals rather than being sold a particular product or ideology.
