AMMs Poised to Outcompete Traditional Market Makers in Tokenized Assets
Hayden Adams, founder of decentralized exchange Uniswap, suggests that automated market makers (AMMs) may gain an edge over traditional market makers as tokenization expands.
This is because tokenized assets can be traded directly against each other, reducing price volatility risk for liquidity providers and lowering the cost of supplying liquidity through AMMs.
Adams argues that grouping highly correlated assets in this way reduces price volatility risk, which in turn lowers the cost of supplying liquidity through AMMs. He believes that this structural advantage could become more pronounced as tokenization grows.
The potential shift has implications for the crypto ecosystem, with AMMs potentially becoming the preferred venue for trading tokenized assets and reinforcing the trend toward decentralized finance (DeFi).
