Anchorage Launches AI Banking Service with Google Cloud Partnership
Financial technology firm Anchorage has launched an AI banking service that enables artificial intelligence agents to access and move capital across traditional finance and crypto payment rails without human intervention.
The new product, called agentic banking, assigns AI agents a verifiable identity, preset spending limits, configurable permissions and policies, and auditability features designed to maintain regulatory compliance.
According to Anchorage's co-founder and CEO Nathan McCauley, the existing financial systems were not built for non-human actors, creating a gap that institutions running automated treasury, payments, and procurement workflows are navigating without adequate infrastructure.
The launch includes a partnership with Google Cloud, which provides the intelligence layer enabling AI agents to discover, negotiate, and coordinate with one another.
