Anchorpoint Financial Limited has begun rolling out its HKDAP stablecoin to institutional clients in Hong Kong, marking a significant milestone for the regulated tokenized money. The company, formed as a joint venture between Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), HKT, and Animoca Brands, received its issuer license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on April 10, 2026.

The HKDAP stablecoin is pegged 1:1 to Hong Kong dollar reserves held in segregated accounts, compliant with HKMA regulations. Anchorpoint's business model follows a B2B2C approach, distributing tokens through authorized partners for payments, trade finance, and tokenized asset settlement.

Standard Chartered executives have been vocal about the strategic importance of regulated tokenized money, seeing HKDAP as infrastructure for transforming how global financial markets handle settlement, particularly across Asia's cross-border trade corridors.
