Ancient Satoshi-Era Wallets Stir with $28M in Bitcoin
Seven ancient Bitcoin wallets from the Satoshi era have come back to life after a 16.5-year slumber, sparking unexpected activity in the market. The wallets, which were created as mining rewards in March 2010, have transferred a total of 350 BTC worth around $28 million. Each wallet moved 50 BTC, taking advantage of Bitcoin's block reward structure at the time.
The transactions are significant because coins from this era rarely move, and their owners may not be selling based solely on these transfers. However, given the current market prices near $80,000, the timing is noteworthy. The daily RSI for Bitcoin is currently at 66.9, indicating strong bullish momentum.
The transfer amount is negligible compared to typical daily trading volume, but its importance lies in its provenance: coins from this era hardly ever move. If these coins are transferred to an exchange, it could increase the activity's relevance to short-term supply conditions.
