Anthropic Soars to $2 Trillion Valuation in Crypto Markets
Crypto markets have pushed Anthropic's valuation to $2 trillion, despite the company having no public stock. This estimate comes from pre-IPO perpetual contracts traded on exchanges like Binance and Kraken.
The value is based on an assumed 1 billion share count for Anthropic, which would put its price at around $2,120 per unit. This figure is more than double the company's last private valuation of $965 billion after a funding round in May.
However, it's essential to note that these contracts settle in tether and do not give anyone actual ownership of Anthropic shares. Traders are essentially betting on where the company might eventually be valued.
Anthropic has warned about unauthorized investment structures, including special-purpose vehicles (SPVs), which may leave investors with nothing. The company has also stated that tokenized securities and forward contracts tied to its shares may carry no real value.
