Aon Closes In on $17 Billion Deal for USI Insurance Services
Aon, one of the world's leading insurance brokers, has announced its plans to acquire USI Insurance Services in a deal worth $17 billion. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter this year, subject to regulatory approvals.
The move aims to create a 'premiere middle market' insurance platform in the US, according to Aon CEO Greg Case. He stated that the merger will enable the company to bring world-class solutions to the underserved U.S. middle market and set a new standard of client leadership for the 200,000 middle-market companies in the US and their 48 million employees.
The acquisition is a significant move for Aon, which acquired NFP in 2024, another insurance broker focused on the US middle market. USI, the tenth largest insurance broker in the US, has more than $3 billion in annual revenue and over 10,500 employees.
