Aon to Acquire USI Insurance Services for $17 Billion
Aon, a leading global insurance broker, has announced its plan to acquire USI Insurance Services from private equity firm KKR for $17 billion. The deal will establish Aon as the premier middle market platform in the US, according to CEO Greg Case.
The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year, pending regulatory approvals. Once completed, USI CEO Mike Sicard will join Aon as president and global CEO of middle market, overseeing a team of over 10,500 employees and managing $3 billion in annual revenue.
Aon's purchase of USI builds on its previous acquisition of NFP in 2024, another insurance broker focused on the US middle market. Case described the opportunity to serve the middle market at scale as having 'tremendous value potential' for Aon shareholders.
