Apple Sued Over Fake Bitcoin Wallet Scam on App Store
Apple is facing a lawsuit after three cryptocurrency investors accused the company of allowing a fake Bitcoin wallet onto its App Store.
The alleged scam, which targeted users between May and August 2025, resulted in losses totaling $1.8 million for James Ramirez, Christopher Ellis, and Jalen Delgado.
The lawsuit claims that Apple failed to properly screen and monitor applications distributed through its App Store, leading to the proliferation of a fake application called Sparrow Wallet.
The legitimate Sparrow Wallet does not offer an iOS version, but the scammers copied its identity to trick users into revealing sensitive wallet recovery phrases.
