Aptos Surges Past 4.5 Billion Transactions as Daily Activity Hits New High

Aptos, a layer-1 blockchain built for high transaction throughput and low fees, has recorded its highest daily activity level in the past week. The network processed 13.2 million transactions in a single 24-hour window, bringing its total to over 4.51 billion since launching in October 2022.

This is an impressive feat, especially considering that Aptos can currently process up to 160,000 transactions per second, one of the highest published capacities among mainstream blockchains. The network's transaction time is also remarkable, with a block time of just 37 milliseconds and zero-second finality, meaning transactions are confirmed the moment they're processed.

Aptos' developer community has been building consistently, with over 1,200 active developers across 134 GitHub repositories, contributing to its growth. The network's decentralization profile is also improving, with a Nakamoto Coefficient of 13, indicating that at least 13 independent entities would need to collude to disrupt consensus.
