The migration window for Arbitrum Nova has closed, but the network is not being shut down entirely. Instead, it will be minimized to a maintenance-oriented service with reduced infrastructure and support.

As of September 2, Nova's operating footprint will decrease, and users can still withdraw their funds using the Canonical Bridge through the Arbitrum Portal. However, larger transfers may require an additional step, involving withdrawal from Ethereum before moving to Arbitrum One.

The transition aims to reduce annual operating costs by approximately $1.43 million, citing around $20.37 million in TVL and 0.03 transactions per second at the time of the proposal. Nova was launched as a cheaper chain for consumer-facing activities like games and social apps.
