Arbitrum Price Soars 49% as Robinhood Chain Frenzy Continues
Arbitrum (ARB), ranked as the 53rd largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, experienced an astonishing 49% price increase in the last 24 hours. This surge saw ARB reach $0.1972, although it remains approximately 92% below its all-time high of $2.40 recorded on January 12, 2024.
The rapid growth of Robinhood Chain, built on Robinhood's ARB technology, is a key catalyst behind the price rise. Launched on July 1, 2026, Robinhood Chain uses the Arbitrum Orbit infrastructure and contributes 10% of its net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem under the Arbitrum Expansion Program.
In July, this program generated $360,000 in licensing revenue for Arbitrum DAO, constituting 35% of its monthly revenue. The recent acceleration in activity on Robinhood Chain has further increased the importance of this revenue model, with daily transaction fees surging to millions of dollars and decentralized exchange trading volume reaching billions.
The economic model between Arbitrum and Robinhood sparked a notable debate on social media, with Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko arguing that if Robinhood chose Solana, it could offer users significantly lower transaction costs. However, ARB co-founder Steven Goldfeder responded by stating that Robinhood retains approximately 90% of the gas revenue on the ARB infrastructure.
