Arbitrum Token Surges as Robinhood Chain Growth Accelerates
The Arbitrum (ARB) token surged by approximately 49% in the last 24 hours, reaching $0.1972 and surpassing its all-time high of $2.40. The price increase is largely attributed to the rapid growth of Robinhood Chain, built on ARB technology.
Rising transaction fees and record-breaking decentralized exchange (DEX) volumes on Robinhood Chain have fueled investor interest in the ARB ecosystem. According to Arbitrum Foundation data, the $360,000 in licensing revenue generated from the Arbitrum Expansion Program constituted 35% of Arbitrum DAO's monthly revenue.
A notable debate has emerged between the founders of Solana and Arbitrum regarding Robinhood Chain's 10% revenue share paid to the Arbitrum ecosystem. Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, suggested that this revenue share could cover approximately four times the transaction fees on Solana if Robinhood chose to use Solana instead.
Steven Goldfeder, co-founder of Offchain Labs and ARB, countered by stating that Robinhood retains approximately 90% of gas revenue on the ARB infrastructure, while it does not receive any revenue from basic network transaction fees on Solana. This has led to a discussion about Arbitrum's revenue sharing model and its benefits for ecosystem development.
