ARB's Rise May Be a 'Buy on Rumors' Scheme, Experts Warn
The token ARB has seen a significant surge in interest since the launch of Robinhood Chain on the Arbitrum Orbit infrastructure. However, experts caution that this rise may be an illusion and not a reliable recovery yet.
Arbitrum is a Layer 2 solution for Ethereum that helps offload main network operations to reduce fees for users. The launch of Robinhood Chain has brought attention to the ecosystem, with daily fees reaching up to $3.75 million and total trading volume exceeding $47 billion in less than three months.
However, the current upward movement is more logically viewed as a correction within a broad descending channel rather than a reversal. A separate vote is necessary for token holders to receive direct benefits from Robinhood Chain revenues, which are not yet automatically distributed among them.
Upcoming unlocks of over 230 million ARB in mid-September could increase volatility and pressure on the price. Technical risks, regulatory risks, liquidity risks, and competition among L2 solutions also pose concerns for ARB.
