Archer Aviation Shares Soar on Boeing Acquisition and Strong Q2 Results
Archer Aviation Inc., parent company of ACHR stock, has seen its shares surge 12% after announcing the acquisition of three Boeing business units and delivering stronger-than-expected second-quarter results.
The company reached an agreement to purchase Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu from Boeing. As part of this transaction, Boeing will acquire approximately 20% ownership in Archer Aviation.
Wisk Aero contributes advanced flight-control capabilities, sensor technology, and radar infrastructure. SkyGrid provides air traffic coordination solutions for autonomous flight operations. Insitu produces unmanned aircraft systems for U.S. defense applications and generates over $200 million annually.
The acquisition represents a strategic shift from operating solely as an eVTOL manufacturer to establishing a comprehensive aerospace and defense enterprise.
