Argentina Unveils Sweeping Crypto-Friendly Deregulation Bill

Share

Argentina is on the verge of a significant shift in its financial market rules as it proposes sweeping deregulation to modernize capital markets with crypto and blockchain technologies. According to an early draft of the Deregulation Bill, prepared by Deregulation Minister Federico Sturzenegger, digital assets will be allowed for investment funds subject to certain regulations.

The bill aims to open up billions in potential demand for digital assets, making Argentina a hub for crypto innovation. Investment funds will be able to invest in digital assets as long as they comply with the fund's investment policy, giving them access to new opportunities.

The draft also approves the tokenization of all negotiable securities using decentralized technologies, making it easier and faster for market participants to operate. This would modernize the entire stock and securities markets, allowing quicker, cheaper, and more efficient transactions.
