Armstrong: Crypto Has Improved Financial Inclusion 'More Than People Give It Credit For'
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong believes that cryptocurrency has made significant strides in improving financial inclusion. In a recent post on X, Armstrong argued that crypto doesn't receive enough credit for unlocking financial access worldwide.
He highlighted several examples of how crypto is making a difference: stablecoins have brought the US dollar onto blockchain, allowing anyone to own a low-inflation currency and send it around the clock at a fraction of a cent; decentralized finance (DeFi) provides access to credit for everyone; tokenized stocks give 4 billion people exposure to the US stock market who were previously unbrokered; and Bitcoin offers a store of wealth that can't be inflated away.
Armstrong emphasized that while there is still more work to be done, it's essential to acknowledge how far crypto has come. He also touched on his company's efforts to advance the Clarity Act legislation, which aims to clarify the division of authority over digital assets between regulatory bodies.
