Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has dismissed the idea that investors should pivot to artificial intelligence from crypto, saying it's based on 'zero-sum, scarcity thinking.'

'I used to hear versions of this, and it's the wrong way to think about the world,' Armstrong said in a social media post. He argued that AI actually makes crypto more important, as AI agents will need their own financial infrastructure.

According to Armstrong, 'AI agents will need their own financial infrastructure and will eventually transact far more per day than all humans combined.'

Coinbase is already building the infrastructure that those AI agents will use, with projects like x402 protocol, Base, and USDC powering agentic payments.
