Armstrong Sees $400,000 Bitcoin by 2030 Amid Uncertainty Over CLARITY Act
Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, has made a bold prediction that Bitcoin could reach $400,000 by 2030. Several factors are expected to contribute to this surge in price, including the passage of the CLARITY Act, which will explicitly define Bitcoin as a digital commodity, attracting more institutional investors and boosting market confidence.
Armstrong also points out that macroeconomic pressures could ease over the next five years, refocusing investors on cryptocurrencies and potentially revitalizing the market. Additionally, the next Bitcoin halving in 2028 is expected to reduce mining rewards, further constraining supply and driving prices up.
The U.S. national debt reaching $40 trillion and annual interest payments exceeding $1 trillion have also made Bitcoin's scarcity an attractive hedge against inflation, enhancing its appeal as a digital asset. However, it's worth noting that the passage of the CLARITY Act is uncertain, with only an 8% chance of passing before October 1, 2027.
Despite these challenges, Armstrong remains optimistic about Bitcoin's future prospects, and his prediction has sparked interest among investors and cryptocurrency enthusiasts alike.
