Armstrong Sees Bottom in Bitcoin Cycle, Expects Price Uptrend Ahead
Coinbase Global CEO Brian Armstrong believes Bitcoin has reached its bottom in the current cycle. Speaking to Bloomberg Television, he said that Bitcoin goes through four-year cycles and thinks we've seen the bottom of the Bitcoin price in this cycle. The next halving event is expected to drive prices up over the coming year or two.
Armstrong also talked about regulatory clarity for the crypto industry, saying it has been getting better. He mentioned that the Clarity Act is 'right on the finish line' in the Senate and that passing it would be a big milestone for the crypto industry.
The Coinbase CEO expressed confidence in bringing tokenized equities to the US 'soon.' He also highlighted four trends he has high conviction in: stablecoin payments, tokenization of equities, prediction markets, and agentic finance. On California's proposed wealth tax, Armstrong said it would be a bad thing for the state, potentially leading to a major budget deficit.
