Armstrong Sees Bottom of Bitcoin Cycle as Prices Plummet to $78,000
Bitcoin's four-year cycles have led Coinbase Global chief executive Brian Armstrong to believe that the worst of this cycle is behind us. Speaking in Singapore on Thursday, Armstrong stated his confidence in Bitcoin reaching a bottom price and starting an upward trend over the next year or two as it approaches its next halving event.
Armstrong's prediction comes after BTC slid to $78,000. He explained that regulatory clarity has been improving, with the Clarity Act nearing passage in the Senate. However, he expressed his confidence that even if the bill doesn't pass, regulators will still provide clear rules within a week or two.
Armstrong also highlighted four areas he is particularly optimistic about for 2027: stablecoin payments, equity tokenization, prediction markets, and agentic finance. He emphasized his desire to see tokenized equities arrive in the U.S. soon.
