Armstrong vs. CZ: Can You Trust Their Bitcoin Price Calls?
Coinbase's CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance's CZ have made various predictions about Bitcoin's price. While they are usually vague in their predictions, they have been specific at times when it comes to long-term forecasts.
Armstrong initially predicted that BTC could reach $1 million by 2030, but later reduced this prediction by 60-70% saying it's likely to see a $300,000 and $400,000 Bitcoin in the next couple of years.
CZ has made similar predictions. He said in October 2025 that 'bitcoin will flip gold', although he didn't give a specific timeline. This week, as Bitcoin jumped 27%, he claimed it'll flip gold's market capitalization 'in the next bull run'. CZ also believes the $1 million per BTC price target will be reached much quicker than initially predicted.
However, both Armstrong and CZ have been known to retract their public forecasts when the market changes. Their predictions often follow the price action, offering vague long-term bullish statements that help them (and news media) benefit from engagement without being held accountable for losses or profits.
